Jiujiang welcomes back the foreign visitor with half a foot of fresh snow.

More than 5 inches of snow blanket the Bamboo lawn on Jiujiang University campus after the most recent ban of snow passed across the region closing the first month of 2008.
The steps on the Bamboo lawn are completely covered by new snowfall opening February 2008.
When I left Jiujiang in mid-January snow began to fall. When I returned on the 1st of February most of China had been affected by the hardest winter storm to hit the country in 50 years – according to local residents. Air travel has been canceled, train travel is crippled, and the highways are parking lots according to travel reports and news channels.
I cannot say I was happy to see so much snow upon my return, but it certainly has been an interesting trip home. Now that I have had time to adjust to the colder weather seeing appropriate seasonal weather is entertaining.
Happy Chinese New Year! More about my recent southern excursion will be online soon.
