Been far too long…

Over a month! Why did you let me go so long without a post? Of course I’ll find a way to displace the blame. After all, I’m American. Ok, ok – I tease you of course. Happy St. Patrick’s day to the Irish readers, and that includes ‘reason-to-drink’ers. Oh, I’m on a roll here! Sorry. Well a lot has been happening and the best part, the part you may or may not be aware of – this blogs address is different. That’s because I started a new domain that isn’t blocked [so far] in mainland China.
What else has happened?
Classes are back in session. I took a ‘part-time’ position at Jiujiang Vocational College teaching Oral-English. I still teach full-time at Jiujiang University so the ‘part-time’ title at JJV means – part of my life I teach at JJU and the other part I teach at JJV, with a modest amount of spare time to sleep. Oh well, it’ll keep me away from the nightlife. Of course, I’m not so sure I wanted to stay away from the that.
The last it of news I wanted to post today – the Thailand story is online! Here’s an excerpt from the story.

THAILAND

That magical place that elicits wonder and fascination when the name is spoken to a travelers ear. A new country to see. Another pin to stick on the map.

What will it be like? What will I see? What will I do?

When I arrived at the Bangkok airport my friend Sanny greeted me with a traditional floral arrangement. You can watch as florists hand weave these arrangements in street markets all across the city.

As I said, I wasn’t sure I’d be ready for what I would see once I arrived in Thailand. You may think that sounds a bit unprepared, but I feel safe admitting such a thing because of my arrival in China six months prior. Thinking back to those first days in China reminded me that the world is full of new experiences and most of them are beyond our imagination. We just have to open ourselves to the experience. more…
