I felt the earth move…but only just a little

Well the word spreads quick enough. There was a major earthquake here in China in Sichuan province. According to major news sites it measured 7.8 on the Richter scale. Wow! Jiujiang is roughly 700 miles from where the quake epicenter occurred. According to China Daily, a second quake measuring 3.9 was recorded in Tongzhou District in east Beijing. Both quakes happened at 2:28 and 2:35 PM respectively.
I did feel a slight tremor while sitting at my desk on the 4th floor of my building but others felt nothing. It was very mild and had I been doing anything more than typing a letter I may have never felt it. It was later, after class, that I found out an earthquake happened and only then did I reflect back to what time I felt the building wobble.
So, I felt the quake but only very slightly. From here I can only watch as rescue and aid crews go to the affected areas via newscasts. Thank you to those that have emailed asking if I am OK and if I was in the area. I am fine, and nowhere near the epicenter.

Best wishes to you and more to come later…
~Chad
