2009…already?!
Happy New Year! Wow…it’s already the 2nd of the new year and here I am dragging out another rapid post just to let you know I’m still here, still teaching, still traveling, still living in China, still…well you get the idea.
A year does a lot to change the landscape of a place. I mean that last year I hunted for a fickle display of western holiday traditional display. This year you can see it’s Christmas and the holidays! Christmas trees in front of every major store and shopping mall. Posters of Santa in the windows. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year painted on windows and walls.
I took a short trip to Beijing last week and wrapped up the Fall semester recently. The last two days have felt like a marathon holiday celebration and now I am here…in the middle of the night…checking email for the first time in 6 days and putting this post up to ask forgiveness for a shoddy Merry Christmas eWish and for missing to send a Happy New Year wish to everyone. Hopefully you’ll pass that off with a wave of your hand and we can both move on to enjoy what is bound to be the most exciting year of our lives!
